About My Practice
I completed medical degree at St. Luke’s College of Medicine in 2000. I underwent training in Orthopaedic Surgery at the Jose Reyes Memorial Medical Center and completed this in 2004. I had my clinical fellowship in Spine Surgery at the National University Hospital in Singapore. I passed the Diplomate examination given by the Philippine Board of Orthopaedics in 2005 and was inducted as a Fellow of the Philippine Orthopaedic Association in 2006. I am an active member and organizing committee of the Philippine Spine Society since 2008.
I’m an Orthopaedic surgeon with additional training in Spine surgery. Being an orthopaedic surgeon, I do medical or surgical means to investigate, preserve and restore functions to a patient's extremities or spine. I restore functions through surgery, due to disease and injury, to the ligaments, tendons, joints, bones, nerves and muscles but also use physical, medical and rehabilitative methods when necessary. Being a spine surgeon, I specialize in degenerative, traumatic, neoplastic, and congenital disorders of the spine. My special areas of interests are in surgery for acquired spinal deformity, spinal tumor surgery, cervical and lumbar fusion surgery. My private practice deals chiefly with patients complaining of low back pain and neck pain. Other frequent consults are scoliosis and spinal tumors and infections. I specialize in the surgical treatment of these afflictions. Renato D. Lipana Jr. M. D., FPOA ORTHOPAEDICS and SPINE SURGERY |
